Life is made of tiny things. Take them seriously.

TinyTrove – Capture every tiny life moment safely

Record small fragments, emotions and thoughts. Keep them safely for your future self.

TinyTrove: Local-first encrypted journal & private photo diary

All these tiny moments are worth keeping

TinyTrove doesn’t force you to write long essays. It helps you gently keep those fleeting moments.

Capture everyday little joys

A flower by the street, unexpected good news, a funny meme from a friend – a few simple lines can stack up into a whole journal of highlights.

Great for: busy professionals, students, parents.

A safe place for unsaid feelings

Things you don’t want to post on social media or say out loud can quietly stay here. Protected by encryption, only you and your future self can read them.

Great for: mood tracking, self-healing, inner conversations.

Keep photos, voice and videos with context

Not just a gallery, but “story capsules” with time, mood and background. When you open them again, you’re not just seeing a picture, you’re stepping back into that day.

Supports: text, photos, video, voice and more.

Write a letter to your future self

Write to yourself one year, five years or ten years from now. When the reminder finally pops up, you’ll see how far you’ve come.

Use reminders and timeline to make these “time gifts” feel special.

Stories for yourself deserve real protection

TinyTrove puts privacy first: where your stories live, how they’re stored and backed up is up to you.

Local encrypted storage

Your content is stored in an encrypted local database, not plain text. Even if the device is lost, your stories stay unreadable.

Separate passcode and backup key

Only you hold the key. Set an app passcode and backup key; we cannot recover or view your content.

Encrypted backup to your own storage

Back up encrypted data to your own storage (e.g. WebDAV). Transfer and storage are encrypted; we cannot decrypt your backup.

More than a diary – your whole life story in one place

TinyTrove lets you arrange text, photos, video and voice in a simple flow.

Timeline view – see your past at a glance

No more scattered notes. Every entry sits on a timeline. Look back by year, month or period and walk through that time again.

Text, photos, video and voice – many ways to talk to yourself

Text, photos, video and voice – many ways to talk to yourself

Sometimes you want to write; sometimes a photo or voice note fits better. TinyTrove supports multiple formats so you can choose by mood.

Strong privacy – so it’s really just for you

Your stories are stored in a local encrypted database, with optional app lock and backup key. Even if someone has your phone, they can’t easily read your content.

How we treat your privacy

  • Stored by default in a local encrypted database.
  • Sensitive actions require an independent passcode/unlock flow.
  • The recovery key is held only by you and is used to restore data.
  • You choose whether to set up cloud backup (e.g. WebDAV).
Backup and migrate – never lose your stories

Backup and migrate – never lose your stories

You can back up to your own trusted storage and restore on a new device. For precious stories, “portable” and “never lost” matter.

Why TinyTrove?

What we remember isn’t always the big events – it’s the small, warm moments: an evening breeze, pre-call nerves, a message that made your day.

Those moments feel tiny at the time, but looking back you see: you got here one small step at a time.

TinyTrove helps you keep those fragments – safe, quiet, only for you. Even a single “I’m okay” today can be proof, years later, that you’ve come a long way.

Release notes

Highlights by version. The app itself is always the source of truth.

2026.5.15

May 2026
  • Faster timeline browsing: entries are grouped by month, with a month picker for jumping through long histories.
  • More controlled WebDAV restore: cloud downloads now show device folders first, so you can choose one or more devices instead of pulling everything.
  • Easier device recognition: uploads add a non-sensitive device description file, making restore choices clearer.
  • Local file management: review local file counts and storage by device, remove backed-up local copies, or download them again from cloud.
  • More complete restore previews: missing thumbnails can be rebuilt during cloud download, improving timeline and detail previews.
  • Better publishing experience: sharper thumbnails, smoother location prefill after picking photos, and bilingual Android file-access guide images.
  • Safer auth and purchase flows: Android biometric prompts are more consistent, and subscription restore is less likely to hang in sandbox/system-sheet cases.
  • Migration fixes: key-rotation output now uses a single .ttfile suffix and preserves device ownership metadata.
  • Localization and polish: added Chinese/English copy and tests for WebDAV device selection, local file management, and month browsing.

2026.5.2

May 2026
  • Publishing photos: choose whether to use location from photo EXIF; preference persists and can be toggled anytime in Settings.
  • Private LAN WebDAV: preflight + retry before connection tests for iOS Local Network permission; saving server config is no longer blocked by the recovery-key backup gate.
  • Security & UX: privacy blur in background; re-authentication after timeout; clearer security readiness and leftover-credentials guidance.
  • Publishing & Photos: consistent photo-permission UI; fewer false failure toasts; quicker path to publish from an empty timeline.
  • Share & import: fix rare import failures for key-bearing shares; unified share-parse/import flow; PDF share anchor fix (e.g. iPad).
  • IAP & subscriptions: more stable purchase/restore; avoid fault prompts during system payment/Apple ID sheets; legal & privacy links aligned on the subscription screen.
  • iOS & review: permission strings aligned with UI language; clearer Local Network disclosure; improved bottom navigation spacing.
  • Other fixes: Face ID black screen / first-time passcode hang; inconsistent language on device-import errors.

2026.4.14

Apr 2026
  • Onboarding & security: shared security-readiness gate with consistent prompts until key steps are completed.
  • WebDAV: actions coordinated with backup readiness; clearer restore feedback and media-unlock handling.
  • Subscriptions: more stable purchases and restore; legal & privacy links on the subscription screen.
  • Publishing & media: smoother publish overlay and animation; fix for some screen-recording thumbnail paths; persistent cache for media prefetch.
  • Devices & sharing: improved non-local device edit/delete key handling; quicker publish entry from an empty timeline.

FAQ

Is my data uploaded to your servers?

We aim for local encrypted storage and optional backup to storage you control. We avoid uploading your content to servers we control. See our privacy policy for details.

Can I move my data when I change phones?

Yes. Use backup to export to your own storage, then restore on the new device after installing the app.

What if I forget my passcode?

We don’t store your passcode. Forgetting it usually means we can’t unlock the encrypted content. Please keep your passcode and backup key safe.

Will TinyTrove be paid?

Basic features are free; some advanced features are available through subscription. In practice, the free version is enough for most users.
